Assignment Component Proficient Maximum Points Possible
Articulate the problem to be researched, purpose of the study, the research question and hypotheses in operational terms aligned with the theoretical framework of the research. States the research question in operational terms that make the question measurable, but neglects to articulate the primary hypothesis and the null hypothesis in operational terms or the relationship between them. Addresses the importance of the research with limited examples of appropriate scholarly support. Mentions the theoretical but only superficially developed. 40
Presents a comprehensive literature review in support of the proposed research question. Presents and defines the research design. Presents limited scholarly research to support the selected research design. 40
Identify and define all relevant variables (e.g., participants). Present procedures for obtaining informed consent. States most appropriate variables with the appropriate statistical research questions for each variable. Provides a general description of informed consent. 40
Present a systematic description of the methodology to be used in the proposed research. States the type of data being collected. Partially defines how that data would be collected. Addresses some limitations, but neglected others. 40
Identify and discuss the assessment instruments to be administered and rationale. Present the empirical support for the assessments you have suggested. Stated tests or assessment procedures proposed to address forensic issues are accurate based on the information provided in the vignette and empirically supported, but underdeveloped. Accurate but incomplete description of how these tests would be used. Vague reference to cultural and forensic issues that may affect evaluation. Anticipated conclusions have some inconsistencies with the information provided in the vignette or the forensic assessments described. 40

NCDA Ethical Standards

Top of Form
NCDA Ethical Standards
The authors of Ethics Chapter in the course text claim that while conducting research for the chapter, they found a paucity of sources dedicated to ethical and legal issues specifically aimed at vocational/career counseling. Given the likelihood of a counselor encountering a client with vocational/career issues, this Discussion will focus your attention on the material in the text and on the ethical standards from NCDA, which are dedicated to vocational/career counseling.
To prepare for this Discussion:
· Review the chapter on Ethics, and compare the NCDA  current  ethical code with the  current  ethical code of your discipline (either ACA or APA)
· Given your specific specialty area, work setting, and client population*, select two individual standards (one from the NCDA Code and one from the ACA or APA Code) that you think are most important to adhere to and explain why.
· Then select two individual standards (one from the NCDA Code and one from the ACA or APA Code) that you think would be most challenging to adhere to, given your specialty area, work setting, and client population
With these thoughts in mind:
Question/Post a brief summary of each of your selections. Then explain why you chose each standard. Comment on any differences you found between the NCDA and the ACA or APA Codes of Ethics.

    Discussion: Treatment of Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders are common in both primary care and psychiatric practice. Clients with anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorders, agoraphobia, and other specific phobias will present to the PMHNP’s office with a significant level of distress. Successful recognition and treatment of anxiety disorders includes an accurate diagnostic assessment with a treatment plan that includes a combination of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Although psychoanalytic theories are based on the concept of anxiety, the more recent standard of care is with the cognitive-behavioral therapies.

In this Discussion, you will analyze evidence-based treatment plans for clients with anxiety disorders.

    Learning Objectives

    Students will:

    · Analyze differences between adjustments disorders and anxiety disorders

    · Analyze diagnostic criteria for anxiety disorders

    · Analyze evidence-based psychotherapy and psychopharmacologic treatment for anxiety disorders

    · Review the Learning Resources.

Describe the psychological consequences (positive and negative) that might result from engaging in behaviors reserved for a specific sex?

MODULE 5
M5 ASSIGNMENT 1
ASSIGNMENT1: LASA2: GENDER APPROPRIATE AND INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIORS
DUE 8/20/18
Recent headlines have sparked heated debate about whether boys should be allowed to dress as girls. For example, a 5-year-old boy in Seattle who enjoys things traditionally for girls, such as jewelry, the color pink, and dresses was supported and encouraged by his mother, who wrote a book about him called “My Princess Boy”. A J. Crew ad featured a mother painting her young boy’s toenails hot pink (CBS News, 2011 April 13). Reactions ranged from outrage and disbelief to support of the mothers.
On the flipside, girls who shun traditionally “girly things” such as dresses and flowers in favor of more traditional “boy things” such as watching or playing sports, rough-and-tumble play, and choosing boys as friends are often called tomboys.
For either sex, choosing to engage in activities traditionally reserved for a specific sex can result in teasing and accusations of homosexuality.
· Using research gathered from your textbook, online course content, and at least 1 research article, analyze the above scenarios.
· Are the behaviors discussed above (i.e., preferring things traditionally acceptable for a specific sex) indicative of homosexuality? Why or why not?
· Describe the psychological consequences (positive and negative) that might result from engaging in behaviors reserved for a specific sex?· Develop an argument for or against concern that these children might be exhibiting a paraphilia.· Which paraphilia(s) might apply and what criteria would you use based on the research?· What, if any, intervention would you recommend to a parent whose little girl or boy expresses the desire to engage in behaviors typical of the opposite sex? If you do not believe intervention is necessary, explain why.By the due date assigned, write an essay that is 3-5 pages in length. Also include a cover page and reference list. Remember to support your arguments with information drawn from the online content, the textbook, and other credible, scholarly sources to substantiate the points you are making.  Apply APA standards to for writing and citations to your work. The paper should be  double-spaced 12-point  typescript, Times Roman font, with  1-inch margins  all around, and free from grammatical errors.

Summarize research related to the influence of nature versus nurture on the cause of Jefferson’s disabilities

Psychology homework help

Traumatic Brain Injury: Jefferson’s Case

When new parents are expecting a baby, they rarely consider the possibility that the baby could have significant challenges. For those who have children with severe, multiple disabilities, planning for the future is a critical, lifelong process and requires considerable investments of time and effort, while potentially causing significant stress to the parents. With advances in our understanding, there are many more resources available to children and families than there were previously.

Review the following scenario:

Jefferson is a six-year-old boy in kindergarten. He has suffered from cerebral palsy and a severe seizure disorder since he was an infant, resulting in significant physical and cognitive impairment. Although he has received services and support through early childhood intervention (ECI) services, as he enters formal schooling, his parents have become increasingly concerned about his future. Jefferson spends most of his time in a wheelchair and uses a special touchscreen augmentative communication device. In addition to their concerns about the future, Jefferson’s father also harbors considerable guilt that he or his wife might have caused their son’s disabilities.

Based on your research, respond to the following:

  • Summarize research related to the influence of nature versus nurture on the cause of Jefferson’s disabilities.
  • Provide a hypothesis of Jefferson’s likely prognosis. What supports or services might maximize this outcome?
  • Evaluate what Jefferson’s future might have been if he were being raised in the U.S. in the 1940s.

Write a 3–5-page paper in Word format (not counting the title and reference pages). Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Be sure to include a title page and reference page, also in APA format.
