Food record and analysis: Pick an average day and record your food. Next, log on to the CNPP website: SuperTracker. You need to create a log in. The program requests some personal data for the analysis. Next, proceed to record your food intake. The site lets you create a list of often consumed foods, which will make it easier for the next time you use it. Once you finish your food intake, select “My Reports.” Copy and save your results to be submitted with your report. Submit Food Groups and Calories, Nutrients, Food Details and Physical Activity reports. Review your food intake and discuss shortfalls. Next, choose a second day and plan a day for food intake which will meet all recommendations, then live this day; be sure to write down everything which you consume, including drinks and snacks. Try to include items you love to eat. Enter your food in the SuperTracker and analyze. Did you meet all requirements? How did your food intake on this day differ from your other recorded day? Plan regular physical activity for a week, attempting to meet recommendations for all types of fitness. Next, follow your plan and note your physical activity in a log. Try to include activities you love, and also note sleeping patterns, personal feelings, thoughts, and additional stresses which might occur. Next, return to the beginning and analyze your physical activity on the CNPP website. Your report should discuss the following questions:

· Compare and contrast your food record and analysis from the two days recorded.

· Did you like your food intake for the days record? How could you improve your diet, and how can you introduce variety?

· What do you consider the most important issue about your diet covered in the course, and how will you apply this to your life? Have you implemented changes and noticed any differences so far? What will be the major challenges to a better diet?

· How is the physical activity log? Was it difficult to adhere to an exercise regimen? Did you feel any difference during this week compared to a week before this course began? What will be the major challenges to maintaining a healthy physical activity regimen?

Cerebral mucormycosis is extremely rare but when it is
diagnosed, it is often found in IV drug users (Fungal Infections, 2018).  In a study published in Neurology, mucromycosis was associated with IV drug uses, most common heroin and cocaine (Lin, 2013).  Although the infection started in another
location, mucor had a predilection for the basal ganglia in 89% of those who were studied (Lin, 2013).

You mentioned people can get infected with mucormycosis from breathing spores in the air, through an open wound in the skin. I also learned that mucormycosis is considered rare but is actually the second most common fungal infection (Clinical Microbiology and Infection, 2013). Some symptoms that can help diagnose mucor are: diplopia, necrotic naso‐sinus eschars, pleuritic pain, necrotic cutaneous lesions. These may be present in other fungal infections, but aid in the initial diagnosis. Early idenitification and treatment are the keys to recovery.
“Mucormycosis has a worse outcome than other invasive fungal infections such as candidiasis or aspergillosis. The higher degree of difficulty to cure this devastating infection is related to differences in host–fungus interactions, and pathogenetic mechanisms, as well as greater difficulties in early diagnosis when the ‘window’ of successful treatment is higher, and wider inadequacies of therapeutic options”(Clinical Microbiology and Infectio, 2013) .

I agree with checking glucose levels as part of the medical treatment for persons with pulmonary mucor. Apart from surgical and pharmaceutical interventions, treating underlying predisposing factors is important (Iqbal et al., 2017). Adding a sliding scale to treat high glucose levels would be optimal for the patient. The incidence of diabetes mellitus is rising, and it is causing an increase in mortality rates with pulmonary mucor (Iqbal et al., 2017).

Healthy people 2020 has many goals. I feel nurses can greatly impact the healthy people 2020 goals by first teaching patients about prevention. Healthy people goals for global health is one of those preventions. “Improve public health and strengthen U.S. national security through global disease detection, response, prevention, and control strategies.” Disease detection starts with well check-ups with your primary care physician. Nursing strategies include educating patients on the importance of keeping check-up appointments. Any chronic illness to be assessed and any new information to be given to patient verbally or written materials given to patient.
Secondly, we as nurses can introduce health promotion. Healthy people 2020 in immunizations and infectious disease goals, “Increase immunization rates and reduce preventable infectious diseases.” Floor nurses can educate patients before discharge on influenzas, pneumonia, or shingles vaccine. We in the cancer center as nurses give handouts on neutropenia symptoms and how to prevent infection (we have many patients that are or become neutropenic). We handout thermometers and give face masks to our patients.  According to NIH.gov, “Nurses must have an evidence-based understanding of the significant effect that can be made through health promotion interventions and communicate this understanding to the public at large. As more people grow in their awareness of activities that lead to good health and become knowledgeable about their own health status and the health of their families, the overall health of the population will improve.” At my hospital where I work we have health screening fairs a few times a year. Other hospitals around our town offer that as well.
According to my current other class Caring for the Community in week 2 it discusses the first level of prevention which is primary prevention. “This is conventional prevention—preventing an undesirable thing from happening. It includes efforts at immunization, nutrition teaching, and education about modes of transmission of communicable disease. For example, encouraging people to protect themselves from the sun’s ultraviolet rays is an example of primary prevention of skin cancer.
