Critique-of-a-Research-Study-psychology-homework-help

Read the full texts of the study you selected in Week One and the sources you included in your Week Two bibliography. Evaluate the usefulness of each source and write a critique of the study from Week One, using the textbook and relevant articles from the Week Two assignment to support your analysis of the study. Use the following section headings and content in your paper.

  • Introduction
    • State the purpose of the paper. Clearly identify the study being critiqued, by title and authors. Summarize the research question, hypothesis (if a quantitative study), and background information on the topic from the study’s literature review. Did the authors present a well-balanced summary of current knowledge about the topic? Is there any apparent bias in the literature review?
  • Methods
    • Differentiate the research design (experimental or non-experimental) and approach (qualitative or quantitative), sampling method, and data collection methods. Indicate the sample size, variables and measures (if a quantitative study), statistical tests (if a quantitative study), coding and analysis procedures (if a qualitative study), and any assumptions made by the researchers. Were the procedures chosen appropriate for the study? What alternative methods would you suggest?
  • Ethical Aspects
    • Analyze ethical issues pertaining to this study. Did the researchers explicitly address ethical issues in the article? If not, was there evidence in the report that the participants’ safety and confidentiality were protected? Was an approval process by an Institutional Review Board or similar ethics review committee mentioned? Were any of the practices ethically questionable (deception, coercion, etc.)?
  • Results
    • Present a summary of the results of the analysis performed in the study. Did the authors keep their interpretations and conclusions separate from the analysis results (evidence)?
  • Discussion and Conclusion
    • Analyze and critique the conclusions drawn by the researchers. Do the conclusions follow logically from the results of the analysis? Evaluate the overall efficacy of the research study by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of aspects of its design and implementation. Identify the limitations noted by the researchers and add any limitations you see that were not mentioned in the article. Describe the directions for future research proposed by the authors and evaluate their appropriateness. Recommend at least one idea for a future study that will overcome some of the limitations of this study.  Keep in mind that this suggested future study will serve as the basis for your Final Paper.

Your paper should be four to six pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Utilize a minimum of five peer-reviewed sources that were published within the last 10 years and are documented in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. These sources should include the article being critiqued and three of the sources from your Week Two assignment, as well as the course textbook.  If at least three of the articles from the Week Two assignment are not useful in evaluating the study being critiqued or for suggesting alternative methods for studying the topic, search the Ashford Library for other suitable peer-reviewed sources

Suppose-you-have-a-one-year-zero-coupon-bond-with-a-rate-of-r1-and-a-two-year-bond-with-an-annual-coupon-payment-of-C-

Complete Problem 31 of Chapter 10 (shown below), and submit your work to your instructor.  Show your calculations and the algebraic manipulation of the price equation for the bond.

In addition to solving the problem, write a one-page essay on the term structure of fixed income securities. Format your essay per APA style guidelines.

One method used to obtain an estimate of the term structure of interest rates is called bootstrapping.  Suppose you have a one-year zero coupon bond with a rate of r1 and a two-year bond with an annual coupon payment of C. To bootstrap the two-year rate, you can set up the following equation for the price (P) of the coupon bond:

P=C_1/(1+r_1 )+(C_2+Par value)/(1+r_2 )^2

Because you can observe all of the variables except r2, the spot rate for two years, you can solve for this interest rate.  Suppose there is a zero coupon bond with one year to maturity that sells for $949 and a two-year bond with a 7.5 percent coupon paid annually that sells for $1,020.  What is the interest rate for two years?  Suppose a bond with three years until maturity and an 8.5 percent annual coupon sells for $1,029.  What is the interest rate for three years?

Which-of-the-27-amendments-is-the-most-important-assignment-help-

Your grade for participation in this discussion will be based in accordance with the rubric located in the course materials section. You must post your initial response by Thursday and must reply to 2 others by Sunday of the week assigned. Your initial substantive post must be 500 words and follow up posts 250 words.

The Constitution is the framework for the organization of the United States government and for the relationship of the federal government with the States, citizens, and all people within the United States. The Constitution has been amended twenty-seven times, the last occurring in 1992.

To assist in better understanding the Constitution, please answer the following question: Of the twenty-seven Constitutional amendments, which one is most important? Why?

There is obviously no wrong answer, so your analysis in support of the amendment you choose is key. (Note: Here are two arguments from a previous term that I did not find overly persuasive – the first amendment, because it is number one, and, the twenty-first amendment, because it brought alcohol back to college campuses).

Why is this week’s forum so important? Sadly, a high percentage of Americans do not know basic information about the Constitution.

Here are some examples:

“What is the supreme law of the land?” Seventy-percent of the 1,000 citizens polled by Newsweek could not answer the “Constitution.”

Sixty-one percent didn’t know that the length of a U.S. senator’s term is six years, 63 percent couldn’t name the number of Supreme Court justices on the bench (nine), and 86 percent didn’t know that 435 members fill the U.S. House of Representatives.

And finally, fifty percent could not name an amendment to the Constitution, and twenty percent said the Constitution has never been amended.

from-time-to-time-businesses-find-themselves-in-need-of-financial-assistance-to-help-them-operate-efficiently-and-compete-with-others

 1

From time to time businesses find themselves in need of financial assistance to help them operate efficiently and compete with others. They result in obtaining loans from banks and other money lending institutions to assist them when faced with such predicaments. The kind of credit that they can access is limited as it has no need of collateral and hence the amount may not be substantial to cater for the long term financing of their goals and projects. Relying on the short term loans to develop projects such as expansion and land acquisition may take years and has the possibility of yielding minimal or no results at all.

 2

This course offers broad knowledge in business-wise and in the world out there. However, I will be eternally grateful to it for instilling in me knowledge about capital structure, what are efficient financial market, and the importance of financial management in a business. With these three concepts in mind, I have all that I need to prosper and succeed in the world. Understanding the capital structure will help me allocate funds to projects accordingly while financial management will guide me through all the important decisions that I have to make. Some decisions should be thought and accessed before being implemented. By also understanding how efficient a market can be will help me understand when to exit the industry or diversify.

 3

When funding your own business one should develop a system of financing their short term needs. One of the most efficient ways of doing this is plowing back the profit. After the sales of the goods and/or services, you should not take all the profit away from the business. Instead you should invest it in the business to allow it generate more revenue with time. This will help you avoid the hustle of borrowing money and paying interest to banks. This money can in turn be used to fund other project and hasten their progress and completion.
