The state of Arkansas offers a guide for farmers. The guide provides an outline with regulations they must follow, for example; sales must be made in containers that have been visibly labeled to show the farmer’s; Arkansas State Permit Number, name and address of the grower, varietal name, number of plants per bundle, and number of bundles in the container. Sale of items in bulk is prohibited except at production site to a local consumer. People who sell or label a product “organic” when they know it does not meet USDA standards can be fined up to $11,000 for each violation.
