Nursing  Campaign for Political Advocacy

Political competence defining characteristic: Opportunities created through networking.Networking is a skill that comes easily to some and less easily to others. As nurses, we often tend to undervalue our position in society which brings strength via advocation to others. Realizing our strengths, especially in numbers we can create political capital and implement change.  The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared nurse should be an active participant in professional groups. Active participation includes lobbying for political change that will affect our professional roles and our patient’s needs.By becoming a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) I can donate to their political action committee (PAC) as well as be an active member in lobbying at the State and National levels with my ‘group’ to help voices be heard.  Membership should be much more than simply paying annual dues and accessing continuing education credits, it is seeking and participating in the organization at multiple levels of involvement and seeking to find the best membership opportunity there is. Networking with peers to help educate community members and elected officials will create buy-in and support. By speaking to the elected state representatives and local leaders I can speak firsthand and answer questions in real-time. Seeking these opportunities out we can lobby with our AANP peers to advocate for full practice authority (FPA) in all 50 states.Another way to network with leaders in the community is to simply be an active participant in local groups and events. I am a member of the Junior League of Pensacola and found that there are many local and state leaders in my local chapter. By simply creating friendships, and keeping friendships, we can open the door to opportunities and situate ourselves at a place to create change through networking (Warner, 2003). Being an active member of the Junior League positions me to do just that. Networking with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, I can discuss the importance of FPA in the State of Florida. By addressing the benefit of opening patient access to care and removing the financial burden of paying a physician for unnecessary oversight by citing the many studies available, we can work to create smoldering change at the local level and bring it forward with allied support.ReferenceWarner, J. Nursing  APA Peripheral Vascular Disease

Peripheral Vascular DiseaseCase StudiesA 52-year-old man complained of pain and cramping in his right calf caused by walking two blocks. The pain was relieved with cessation of activity. The pain had been increasing in frequency and intensity. Physical examination findings were essentially normal except for decreased hair on the right leg. The patient’s popliteal, dorsalis pedis, and posterior tibial pulses were markedly decreased compared with those of his left leg. Studies Results Routine laboratory work Within normal limits (WNL) Doppler ultrasound systolic pressures Femoral: 130 mm Hg; popliteal: 90 mm Hg; posterior tibial: 88 mm Hg; dorsalis pedis: 88 mm Hg (normal: same as brachial systolic blood pressure) Arterial plethysmography Decreased amplitude of distal femoral, popliteal, dorsalis pedis, and posterior tibial pulse waves Femoral arteriography of right leg Obstruction of the femoral artery at the midthigh level Arterial duplex scan Apparent arterial obstruction in the superficial femoral artery Diagnostic Analysis With the clinical picture of classic intermittent claudication, the noninvasive Doppler and plethysmographic arterial vascular study merely documented the presence and location of the arterial occlusion in the proximal femoral artery. Most vascular surgeons prefer arteriography to document the location of the vascular occlusion. The patient underwent a bypass from the proximal femoral artery to the popliteal artery. After surgery he was asymptomatic. Critical Thinking Questions 1. What was the cause of this patient’s pain and cramping? 2. Why was there decreased hair on the patient’s right leg? 3. What would be the strategic physical assessments after surgery to determine the adequacy of the patient’s circulation? 4. What would be the treatment of intermittent Claudication for non-occlusion?

Nursing  Policies for Compliance Plans

Are you ready to present the policies for your two compliance plans in a way that all employees will understand at a large medical facility where you are the Compliance Officer? In a 4-page paper, describe the policies for each of the two compliance plans. Break each policy section into 2 pages each. Remember to support your policies for the two plans with a total of three research sources, cited at the end in APA format. (That’s 1-2 research sources per plan.)Polices you should consider covering for each plan come under the key compliance elements: Compliance Standards, High-Level (personal) Responsibility, Education, Communication, Monitoring/Auditing (for Safety), Enforcement/Discipline, and Response/Prevention.Look these over in your research and then select just two of these key elements and write your policies under them for each of your two compliance plans. (Your policies for each plan can zero in on different key elements.)Example:A compliance plan about washing hands between patients might describe policies for High Level (personal) Responsibility and Monitoring/Auditing (for Safety)A compliance plan about charging patients for Diabetes Management Education as a Physician Visit might describe policies for Compliance Standards and Enforcement/Discipline.

Nursing  respondo weeko uno

Include  whether or not you believe demographic factors, such as geography, population, age, or ethnicity, will (or should) influence the disciplines that your classmates chose. Why? Your reply posts should be 100 to 150 words, with a minimum of one supporting reference included.Response 1The purpose of this post is to discuss why a multidisciplinary approach to gerontology is needed and to identify and provide a rationale for the top five disciplines that should be included on a multidisciplinary team. All stakeholders can benefit from a multidisciplinary approach to any field, but especially gerontology. Alkema and Alley (2006) explain that a multidisciplinary approach highlights the ability of different disciplines to cooperate. This can lead to better patient care, healthcare cost reduction, and overall job satisfaction for providers. Kung et al. (2019) found that when providers have adequate resources for their patients they are less likely to experience burnout. Gerontology is not a well-defined discipline, in part because every discipline has to incorporate gerontology, as Alekam and Alley (2006) suggest, gerontology is an integrative study area where it is essential to understand the interconnections of multiple disciplines. Instead of being looked at a small part of each discipline, I think gerontology should be seen as an umbrella of which all other disciplines are a part. For example, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program specializing in geriatrics, and so other disciplines should also offer specialization in geriatrics. Eventually, they will be specialized and educated providers and different disciplines that can come together and enrich the field of Gerontology. One provider alone cannot know all there is to know about Gerontology. However, one provider can know where to find resources for their geriatric patients. Some disciplines that are essential to the collaborative care of geriatric patients include physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical social workers, home health aides, and pharmacists. Physical therapy and occupational therapy are two disciplines that can be provided at home and can focus on improving or maintaining the elderly’s independence, mobility, safety, and fall prevention. From my own experience as a Home Health Nurse, medical social workers can help a patient navigate insurance coverage, facility placement, identifying and obtaining basic resources such as food, utilities, health insurance, caregivers, and transportation. Another important discipline, especially in Gerontology is the pharmacist, who can be an incredible resource for both the patient and the provider in making sure drug safety and polypharmacy are addressed. To provide all of these services alone would be nearly impossible for one provider, but a multidisciplinary approach to care can improve the quality of care delivered to the patient and ease the burden on providers.Response 2As people become older, many people can experience different chronic illnesses and psychological complications. In addition to simply becoming older, it is important to highlight that a person’s level of health is influenced by social and environmental factors (Alkema & Alley, 2006). For example, the early death of children and poverty are common risk factors that can negatively impact people as they age (Stowe & Cooney, 2015). As a result of these elements, this discussion will highlight why a multidisciplinary approach is needed when caring for older adults and identify five different disciplines that can be included in this team. When focusing on the topic of gerontology, a multidisciplinary approach and team are needed to satisfy the variable needs of each individual. In the article by Alkema and Alley (2006), gerontology is best defined as the study of the ageing population. As people age, they will encounter a higher risk of developing multiple comorbidities (Verwijs et al., 2020). In many cases, musculoskeletal changes can decrease bone density and lead to the development of osteoporosis (Gould et al., 2018). In addition, women will begin to experience menopause and can encounter emotional changes. Many chronic illnesses can also negatively affect people’s physical function and even decrease appetite (Verwijs et al., 2020). Due to the abundant numbers of unique changes that are happening to the body, a multidisciplinary approach is needed to quickly diagnose and effectively treat the multiple complications. When creating a multidisciplinary team to care for older adults, many different disciplines can be integrated. My top five disciplines to be included in the team are psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, and physical therapists. To better understand how this multidisciplinary team can work together, a patient’s example will be provided to highlight the important role of each discipline. For example, in the year 2014, people age 85 and older were among the highest risk group to commit suicide (Gonyea et al., 2018). Due to the increased sickness and change in living conditions, these cause many people to experience the feeling of depression (Gonyea et al., 2018). To better help treat these individuals, psychiatrists and nurses can use empathy to better understand the patient’s problem (Yang et al., 2020). Then, psychiatrists can provide counseling services and prescribe medications. With the use of the multidisciplinary team, the social worker can then use the learned knowledge to offer supports for patients in the community (Kim et al., 2020). As the feeling of depression can decrease appetite, a nutritionist can be consulted to help patients develop a healthier eating plan (Gould et al., 2018). Lastly, if the increased sickness impacted people’s mobility, physical therapists could help patients regain their strength and independence (Kim et al., 2020). As people regain their strength, they are also more likely to become happier. In conclusion, each discipline was chosen based on their ability to help patients better cope with the new changes. Rather than working separately, the psychiatrist was able to collaborate with the social worker to provide effective care quickly. Due to the multiple complications of aging, a health care provider must understand the important role of collaboration when treating patients.

t is anticipated that the initial discussion response should be in the range of 250-300 words. Response posts must demonstrate topic knowledge and scholarly engagement with peers. This is not the only criteria utilized for evaluation; substantive content is imperative. All questions in the topic must be addressed. Please proofread your response carefully for grammar and spelling. Do not upload any attachments. All responses need to be supported by a minimum of one scholarly resource. Journals and websites must be cited appropriately. Citation and reference must adhere to APA format (6th Ed.).Classroom ParticipationStudents are expected to initially address the discussion question by Wednesday of each week. Participation in the discussion forums is expected with a minimum total of three (3) substantive postings (this includes your initial posting and posting to two peers) on three (3) different days per week. Substantive means that you add something new to the discussion, you aren’t just agreeing. This is also a time to ask questions or offer information surrounding the topic addressed by your peers. Personal experience is appropriate for a substantive discussion and should be correlated to the literature. All discussion boards will be evaluated utilizing rubric criterion inclusive of content, analysis, collaboration, writing and APA. If you fail to post an initial discussion you will not receive these points, you may however post to your peers for partial credit following the guidelines above. Due to the nature of this type of assignment and the need for timely responses for initial posts and posting to peers, the Make-Up Coursework Policy (effective July 2017) does not apply to Discussion Board Participation.Discussion Prompt [Due Wednesday]Sally is 18 years old and recently became bothered by a rash that is itchy, red, inflamed, and dry. She also has scaly areas that she says are getting worse. The rash is only around her umbilicus and on her elbows. Both of her parents have psoriasis, but she doesn’t believe this is the problem, because it appears different from her parent’s lesions. She lives in Florida, is under a lot of stress in high school, and just recovered from a lingering upper respiratory infection (URI).Questions:What do you anticipate the rash will look like? Using the internet search engine find an image that reflects what the patient is reporting and attach for all to see. What are the risk factors for Sally getting psoriasis? What diagnostic test might you order?Name your top three differentials? What is the goal of therapy? What would you order first to treat? What follow up or referral is needed?

Yirlem:QD1. The development of a study utilizing qualitative research design requires the choice of a specific type of research and methods of collecting data and selecting the sample. I would like to investigate a social phenomenon. Thus, the type of this study will be phenomenological research.I will research the social phenomenon from the perspective of those who have experienced it. Thus, there is a need to choose a particular population that is affected by the chosen issue. The information from participants must be collected in an effective manner as well(Crossman, 2020).In terms of sampling, I would like to use the strategy of purposive sampling. Qualitative research focuses on attributes and relationships in a population. The selected sample has to help in discovering the meanings and multiple realities (Polit, 2017). The authors of the study have to establish the eligibility criteria for their work.Yirlen:QD2. Alcohol abuse may have severe consequences for the patient’s health, leading to life-threatening conditions. Patients often dismiss the reinforcing effects of their addiction, resulting in their emergent hospitalization. Frank is one of the patients who require immediate medical intervention as his alcohol abuse caused an inflammatory process in his stomach. If I were an ICU nurse, I would primarily pay attention to his epigastric pain that radiates to his back and severe abdominal pain. These symptoms indicate the presence of acute pancreatitis that may have even more severe symptoms. The patient’s bowel sounds are hypoactive, and it also accentuates the possibility of pancreatitis as the intestinal activity is disrupted. Moreover, I would consider such conditions as hypertension, respiratory viral infection, diaphoresis, and fever may all indicate alcoholic pneumoniaRegarding treatment modalities, I would expect Frank to go through cognitive behavior therapy as alcohol addiction requires changes of his lifestyle to eliminate the inclination to alcohol abuse. Such an approach is beneficial for addictive behavior as it involves direct communication and self-analysis through it (Norris, 2021). Patients learn to analyze their thoughts and to differentiate between the positive and negative ones.

HUM1001 History of Art through the Middle Ages SU01Question 1. The Evolution of Greek SculptureAs we learned this week, sculptors in Ancient Greece strove to achieve perfection in the works of art they created. Carefully examine the following sculptures and read about each one in your textbook, course and video lectures, and through reliable internet resources:Peplos Kore, from the Acropolis, Athens, c. 530 BCEWarrior, found in the sea off Riace, Italy, c. 460-450 BCEHagesandros, Polydoros, and Athanadoros of Rhodes, Laocoön and His Sons, 2nd-1st c BCEThen, in a minimum of 2 well-developed paragraphs, answer the following questions:What specific visual similarities do you observe in these three sculptures? What specific differences do you see? Consider the representation of the figure, facial expression or suggested emotion, additional objects portrayed, and the role of the viewer for each sculpture. How is each sculpture representative of the period in Ancient Greece (e.g., Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic) in which it was created?Be sure to explain your ideas clearly and support them by discussing specific details about each sculpture.Question 2. The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and understanding of a diversity of faith expressions; for the purpose of this course, the focus will be on the Christian worldview.Based on “Case Study: End of Life Decisions,” the Christian worldview, and the worldview questions presented in the required topic study materials you will complete an ethical analysis of George’s situation and his decision from the perspective of the Christian worldview.Provide a 1,500-2,000-word ethical analysis while answering the following questions:How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the fallenness of the world? How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the hope of resurrection? As George contemplates life with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), how would the Christian worldview inform his view about the value of his life as a person? What sorts of values and considerations would the Christian worldview focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia?Given the above, what options would be morally justified in the Christian worldview for George and why?Based on your worldview, what decision would you make if you were in George’s situation?
