First, set the date range to be for exactly 1 year ending with the Monday that this course started.  For example, if the current term started on 04/01/2014, then use 04/01/2013 – 03/31/2014. Your dates will going back exactly 1 year.  Next, click the link on the right that says Download to Spreadsheet and then save the file to your computer.

This project will only use the Closing Values. Assume that the closing prices of the stock form a normally distributed data set. This means that you need to use Excel to find the mean and standard deviation and then use those numbers and the methods you learned in sections 5.2 and 5.3 of our text book for Normal distributions to answer the questions.

Complete this assignment within a single Excel file. Show your work or explain how you obtained each of your answers.  Answers with no work and no explanation will receive no credit.

1.     If a person bought 1 share of Google stock within the last year, what is the probability that the stock on that day closed at less than the mean for that year? Hint: You do not want to calculate the mean to answer this one. The probability would be the same for any normal distribution. (5 points)

2.     If a person bought one share of Google stock within the last year, what is the probability that the stock on that day closed at more than $400? (5 points)

3.     If a person bought 1 share of Google stock within the last year, what is the probability that the stock on that day closed within $45 of the mean for that year? (5 points)

4.     Suppose a person within the last year claimed to have bought Google stock at closing at $362.50 per share. Would such a price be considered unusual?  Be sure to use the definition of unusual from our textbook. (5 points)

5.     At what prices would Google have to close at in order for it to be considered statistically unusual? You should have a low and high value. ?  Be sure to use the definition of unusual from our textbook. (5 points)

6.     What are Quartile 1, Quartile 2, and Quartile 3 in this data set? Use Excel to find these values.  This is the only question that you should answer without using anything about the Normal distribution. (5 points)

7.      Is the normality assumption that was made at the beginning valid? Why or why not? Hint: Does this distribution have the properties of a normal distribution as described in our textbook? It does not need to be perfect.  Real data sets are never perfect.  However, it should be close. One option would be to construct a histogram like we did in Project 1 and see if it has the right shape.  If you go this route, something in the range of 10 to 12 classes would be a good number. (5 points)

There are also 5 points for miscellaneous items like correct date range, correct mean, correct SD, etc.

Activity-based costing is one of the most accurate methods that can be used to allocate overhead. However, it is not often used in many smaller organizations due to the substantial cost involved with its implementation. 

Using the module readings and the Argosy University online library resources, research the activity-based costing method. Use your research and/or your experiences as a working professional to complete this assignment.

• If you have utilized an activity-based costing system in your former or current employment, describe how this system had been used. In your response, be sure to include your experience and position on the effectiveness of the activity-based costing system. Support your ideas by drawing on your readings and scholarly articles.

When defining an era such as the 1960s, a lot of images come to mind: the march on Washington, psychedelic music, peace signs, the antiwar movement, the assassinations of prominent political leaders, and so on. In this Assignment, you will explain which of the events, people, and symbols best define the 1960s.

Assignment

It is the year 2325. You are a prominent archaeologist who has just been summoned to a dig site because your colleagues have made a unique discovery: a time capsule from the 1960s that was buried long ago. Very carefully, you and your colleagues unearth and open this time capsule. Inside the time capsule you find five items that define the era of the 1960s.

For this Assignment write a brief paper that covers the following:

1. Describe each of the five items you have found.
2. Explain why each of these is especially important in defining the era of the 1960s.
3. Based upon these items you have found, conclude your paper with a solid paragraph that explains one major lesson that you have learned from the 1960s.

Hint: The objects you find in your time capsule do not necessarily have to be material items, but can also be events, trends, fads, etc. For example, your time capsule may contain assassinations, the Vietnam War, or the women’s movement. Also, feel free to be creative with the types of items that you find. For example, perhaps you have found a letter written by an antiwar protester to the government, or a song by famous 1960s musician, or perhaps a piece of artwork by a famous 1960s visual artist.

The total length of your paper should be 6 pages formatted in APA style. The first page is a title page. Page 6 is a reference page and ages 2 through 5 are text. You should have a total of four references, at least one of which should be outside of the course materials. Please use only academic resources. Also, remember to use Times New Roman 12-point font, set margins to one inch, and double space your paper.
