What type of drug should you prescribe based on your patient’s diagnosis? How much of the drug should the patient receive?

Ethical and Legal Implications of Prescribing Drugs
What type of drug should you prescribe based on your patient’s diagnosis? How much of the drug should the patient receive? How often should the drug be administered? When should the drug not be prescribed? Are there individual patient factors that could create complications when taking the drug? Should yoube prescribing drugs to thispatient?
These are some of the questions you might consider when selecting a treatment plan for a patient. As an advanced practice nurse prescribing drugs, you are held accountable for people’s lives on a daily basis. Patients and their families will often place trust in you because of your position. With this trust comes power and responsibility, as well as an ethical and legal obligation to “do no harm.” It is important that you are aware of current professional, legal, and ethical standards for advanced practice nurses with prescriptive authority. In this paper, you explore ethical and legal implications of the following scenario and consider how to appropriately respond.
Scenario:
You see another nurse practitioner writing a prescription for her husband who is not a patient of the nurse practitioner. The prescription is for a narcotic. You can’t decide whether or not to report the incident.
To prepare:

· Consider the ethical and legal implications of the scenario for all stakeholders involved such as the prescriber, pharmacist, patient, and the patient’s family.
· Think about two strategies that you, as an advanced practice nurse, would use to guide your ethically and legally responsible decision-making in this scenario.
With these thoughts in mind:
Post an explanation of the ethical and legal implications of the scenario you selected on all stakeholders involved such as the prescriber, pharmacist, patient, and the patient’s family. Describe two strategies that you, as an advanced practice nurse, would use to guide your decision making in this scenario.

What health interventions will you focus on to support the health maintenance of the mother and stabilize the family unit?

uestion description
Please answer the question based on the text bellow. Please include citations and references in case you need to used for the question.
The discussion mentions two theories that pertain to the family and the function of the family. I would like to consider Dorothea Orem’s Self Care Deficit Theory. This theory claims that nursing care is needed when a person experiences some health issue that causes an inability to care for self (Friberg & Creasia, 2016). Caring for a person who is unable to care for self creates a situation type stress on the family unit. Family members may be forced to take on new and or additional roles to assist with the care of an ill loved one (Potter, Perry, Stocker & Hall, 2017). A change of family roles will create an additional stress which may create a lack of continuity in the family unit.
The nurse can help this family by identifying the current situational crisis and the root of the crisis. Understanding the cause of the crisis will better prepare the nurse to help relieve pressure of caring for the ill loved one. It may be important to ensure the stability of the client, address what ails the family, then teach the family how to support and maintain the ill mother and family unit. Susie having an understanding of being a part of a “sandwich generation” will also relieve some stress (Potter et al., 2017).
Question: What health interventions will you focus on to support the health maintenance of the mother and stabilize the family unit?

For this discussion, carefully read the Voices of Freedom primary sources on pages 558 and 559 of the Give Me Liberty! textbook

History Since 1865 Discussion and Response

Question descriptionQuestion 1 about 250 word : Here in Texas, the state legislature requires that each student take History 1301 and 1302. And the TAMUCC Core curriculum requires wide variety of Humanities (fields like History, English, and the languages) courses. However, there’s a good bit of pressure on colleges from lawmakers, students, and parents to keep students focused on courses in their major fields. For example, I often hear from students in fields like engineering or nursing that they don’t feel like our history course will have any value for them.

In conversations like that, I usually point students to articles like this one from The Atlantic, or this one from the Wall Street Journal, or this one particularly for nursing students from the Rutgers U. Nursing program, that describe the value of such courses.

For this discussion, I’d like to hear your thoughts on the value that Humanities courses bring to your degree. Since you aren’t reading primary sources, don’t worry about that type of evidence for this discussion. It will make sense for you to reference some point made by one of the articles as you lay out your ideas.

Question 2 about 300 word: For this discussion, carefully read the Voices of Freedom primary sources on pages 558 and 559 of the Give Me Liberty! textbook. The two sources are part of an essay by Charlotte Perkins Gilman about women’s role in the economy and part of an essay by John Mitchell about the ways that some definitions of liberty have hurt the working man. In your response, describe how each of them views the connection between economics and liberty and explain how they differ in their view of the relationship between the family and economic freedom.

In your response you should use evidence from the primary sources to prove your point. Typically this requires a three-step process of making your assertions about the issue, giving the reader evidence that proves your point (usually by providing a brief quotation from the text), and then fully explaining to the reader why the evidence proves your point. Since we are all looking at the same two pages of the textbook, you don’t need to provide a citation when you reference the material.

What is a health care organization's administrative role regarding oversight of risk management policies

Discussion

Throughout this course, you have identified, examined, and provided individual as well as collaborative analysis on multiple facets of risk management in the health care setting.

Addressing the knowledge you have gained, and building on that knowledge to add your evaluation of the role that the managed care organization (MCO) plays in today’s health care environment, develop a 250-500 word reflection to incorporate the following:

  1. What is a health care organization’s administrative role regarding oversight of risk management policies and ensuring compliance with managed care organization (MCOs) standards?
  2. What is your assessment of the value provided to an organization that stems from the regulatory statutes of a typical MCO? Consider the establishment of conflict resolution and risk management strategies within the health care organization from the employer/employee perspective as well as in regards to patient conflict circumstances.
  3. What MCO responsibilities pertain to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) focus on fraud, waste, and abuse laws?

NURSING SERVICES DELIVERY THEORY

NURSING SERVICES DELIVERY THEORY

Assignment: Application: Systems Theory For this Assignment, you apply systems theory to the examination of a problem in a department or a unit within a health care organization. To prepare:

1. Review the Meyer article, “Nursing Services Delivery Theory: An Open System Approach,” in this week’s Learning Resources. Focus especially on the information presented in Table 1 (p. 2831) and Figure 2 (p. 2833). 2. Reflect on your organization or one with which you are familiar. Within a particular department or unit in this organization, identify a problem the staff is encountering. 3. Using Table 1 in the Meyer article as a guide, analyze the department or unit, identifying inputs, throughput, output, cycles of events, and negative feedback. Consider whether the problem you have selected relates to input, throughput, output, cycles of events, and/or negative feedback. 4. Think about how you could address the problem: Consider what a desired outcome would be, then formulate related goals and objectives, and translate those goals into policies and procedures. 5. Research professional standards that are pertinent to your identified problem. 6. Reflect on the organization’s mission statement and values. In addition, consider how addressing this problem would uphold the mission and values, while improving the organizational culture and climate. (Depending on the organization you have selected, you may have explored these in the Week 1 Discussion.) To complete: Write a 3- to 5-page paper (page count does not include title and reference page) that addresses the following:

1. Describe a department or unit within a health care organization using systems theory terminology. Include a description of inputs, throughput, output, cycles of events, and negative feedback. 2. Describe the problem you identified within the department or unit using an open- systems approach, and state where the problem exists using the systems theory model (input, throughput, output, cycles of events, or negative feedback). 3. Based on this information, explain how you would address the problem as follows: a. Formulate a desired outcome. b. Identify goals and objectives that would facilitate that outcome. c. Translate those goals and objectives into policies and procedures for the department or unit. d. Describe relevant professional standards. 4. Explain how your proposed resolution to the problem would uphold the organization’s mission and values and improve the culture and climate.
