A discussion occurred that identified the characteristics of the successful team building elements and compared them to those managers that have not been successful. This is a situation where those who are struggling need to learn from those who are doing well. The discussions included identifying what could be going wrong and what steps might be taken for success.

You have been asked to write a research report that summarizes the meeting and offers some recommendations that might be helpful to those managers who are struggling. Specifically, your report must include:

You must convince the other managers that while this is a long-term initiative, its benefits will be huge. A well-planned approach is important, and many will need to have training to learn some of the team-building skills necessary to make this a success. You realize that for some, this may be uncomfortable, which is why the managers must be the first team to practice and demonstrate the traits of a high-performing team.

Discuss ways to implement this new system. Be sure to give specific examples.

As organizations experience greater pressure to ensure profitability in an increasingly competitive environment, this may potentially cause decision makers to compromise their ideals in order to accomplish their goals. Additionally, as values and expectations change, organizations are expected to be better citizens in society. The notion that organizations exist to merely return a profit to their stockholders is fading. Stakeholders range from vendors who supply products, to customers who buy products, to communities that serve as the location of the organization. All these stakeholders have an interest in the organization’s success and therefore have a voice in what is considered ethical and appropriate organizational behavior.

From a stakeholder’s perspective, answer the following questions.

• Should companies such as GE and Monsanto be held accountable for their past actions performed decades earlier?

• What if the actions are illegal today because of the known effects?

• What if those actions were legal at the time?
